Itinerary

Buenos Aires
Image Our trip starts at Ezeiza (Ministro Pistarini) airport. Our staff will be at the airport to welcome you before the transfer to your Tango Boutique Hotel. A greeting reception will be held at the hotel where you will receive an introductory chat of the activities planned for the week.

City tour: The Tango culture in Buenos Aires part I – First Tango Lesson
Image The week begins with a thematic tango city tour, visiting the historical buildings of Buenos Aires and following the chronology of the Tango from its beginnings in the 80’s, in the XIXth century and throughout the years. You will learn about the early period of the city and the influence of the Tango culture in the history and development of the River Plate region. You will visit the famous “conventillos”, where low-income families lived and walk along the famous Corrientes Street, where the tango moved in the XXth century and turned into the cultural symbol of Argentina. You will also visit the Palais the Glace, a place where the upper-class families began to get related to the tango dance. The tour finishes in a typical restaurant in San Telmo, where you will have lunch. In the evening you will enjoy your first tango lesson, learn the secrets of the dance or improve your tango skills.

The Tango culture in Buenos Aires part II – Second Tango lesson
Image Today you will visit the city for the second time, you will go towards the neighborhood of Palermo and enjoy a walk around the beautiful parks and lakes designed by Charles Thays; you will visit the Rosedal of Palermo and then continue towards the traditional “Hipódromo de Palermo” (horse race track of Palermo), Argentina’s main racecourse that has been a source of inspiration for many tangos like the famous one "Por una cabeza” of the legendary king of tango, Carlos Gardel. The tour continues towards the neighborhood of Abasto, where you will visit the house of Carlos Gardel before he went to Paris where his talent became popular. The tour finishes in a typical bar in the Abasto, where you will have lunch. In the evening you will enjoy your second Tango lesson.

Third Tango lesson - Dinner and Tango show
Image Today you will be free in the morning to make your own planning. We suggest taking a walk around the city to visit those places that more impressed you during our tours. If you wish to know some milestone of our history or to know other aspects of the city, we recommend some interesting options like the Evita tour, the literary tour, or the Architecture tour in Buenos Aires. In the evening you will take your third tango lesson. After the class you will enjoy a dinner and tango show offered by “Complejo Tango”. You will enjoy a world-class performance offer by an orchestra of renowned maestros and a distinguished cast of professional dancers and singers who relate the history of tango from its origins to the modern Tango.

Fourth Tango Lesson & Milongas
Image Today is another morning for leisure in Buenos Aires. We suggest visiting the North districts of Buenos Aires, specially San Isidro and Tigre, where nature and history is combined. At the Tigre you can take navigation through the Delta’s Channels visiting the islands that lay in front of the district. In the evening you will take you fourth tango lesson. After all this training you will be ready to join your first milonga. You will go out for a night of dancing at a typical milonga of Buenos Aires, you will enjoy a delicious dinner and let yourself feel free and dance the night away between experts and amateur dancers.

Day of shopping – Dinner and Tango Show
Image During the morning we will take you on a shopping visit. You will go to different stores where and find different Tango souvenirs; You will visit some book stores with extensive catalogs regarding the history of tango, general information of tango, structure of the dance, the memoirs of Carlos Gardel, etc. You will have lunch at a shopping mall of the city and make your last purchases. In the evening you will you will have your last Tango instructions and receive your tango certificate for your classes. This incredible week concludes with a dinner and tango show in a traditional and prestigious house of tango: “Esquina Carlos Gardel”. Located in the Abasto, in the same corner where “Chanta Cuatro” (a place where Gardel used to have dinner with his friends) was located, this tango house with its luxurious halls, excellent acoustics and extraordinary dancers, offers an authentically tanguero atmosphere.
