The region of Cuyo includes the Provinces of Mendoza, San Luis, San Juan and La Rioja. The region is located in a privileged area of Argentina, on the foot of the Andes, alternating rocky and desert landscapes with cultivated fertile valleys covered with fruit and olive trees and vineyards. Many of these landscapes have been modified to take advantage of the water, turning desert areas into fertile regions. The main activity of Cuyo is the famous vine cultivation and production. The Celebration of the Vendimia is famous, the great celebration of the grapevine that is developed in the city of Mendoza. The itinerary of the Wine Route in Mendoza and the other provinces of the region is one of most attractive tours to make.


In Cuyo we find the highest hills of the continent, among them the Aconcagua Hill, the upper of America, with 6,959 M.s and symbol of the province of Mendoza. Another must-see attraction is the Valley of the Moon or Ischigualasto as is technically denominated. The Valley of the Moon was habitat of thousands of dinosaurios more than 200 million years ago and today is a desert valley where impressive figures can be observed on rocks product of the erosion.
